Bentonite clays have high absorption properties and after moistening obtain high water-retaining properties. Owing to these properties bentonite is efficiently used in:

• waterproofing works in building underground structure;
• creation waterproofing walls, during burial of domestic and industrial waste;
• sewage treatment;
• waterproofing of reservoirs;
• drinking water treatment;
• pollution absorption.

Bentonite clay, bentonite powders or bentogranules are used separately or in mixture with ground or sand. The consumption of bentonite depends on ground waterproofing and is from 5 to 50 kg/m²
