BENTONITE POLYMER AND INTERPOLYMER COMPOUNDS

With the purpose to increase consumer properties of bentonite as binding material for iron ore pellets production we have developed and are producing bentonite polymer compounds.

It is a bentonite activated with soda ash, processed under special technology, with addition of special polymers.

Structure of bentonite polymer compounds adapts according to customer’s requirements for each iron ore plant in order to slowdown consumption of binding component and to improve quality of green and burned pellets.

Interpolymer binding (IPB) for production of iron ore pellets, agglomerate and for metallurgical waste briquetting

Interpolymer binding (IPB) is a polymeric complex (combination of two and more polymers with various levels of hydrolytic degradation and molecular weight exposed to mechanochemical activation) with introduction auxiliary inorganic components.

The IBP is using as an additive in production of iron ore pellets, agglomerate and for metallurgical waste briquetting, self-contained or in combination with bentonite clay and other mineral additives. There are three basic modifications of IBP production: low-viscosity (abbreviation IBP is deleted here) (INP-LV), mid-viscosity (INP-MV), high-viscosity (abbreviation IBP is deleted here) (INP-HV).

Subject to combination of components in the IPB composition, the IPB makes it possible:

  • to slowdown bentonite consumption,
  • to increase output of minable green and burned pellets and agglomerate,
  • to provide characteristic strength and quality of commercial pellets and agglomerate,
  • to increase metallurgical properties of pellets and agglomerate.

Interpolymer binding (IPB) is in line with the requirements specified in the Table:
